EMILY SIMPSON 

Emily Simpson is a technical director, props artisan, and scenic designer. She is currently working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Theatre Design & Technology with emphases in Technical Direction and Scenic Design, as well as a minor in French and Francophone studies. She is also a Schreyer Honors College Scholar. She will graduate in May 2024. 

 

Most recently, Emily was the Technical Director for Penn State's production of Urinetown (2024), and the Props Manager for Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812 (2023). Additional credits from her time at Penn State thus far include Technical Director for Emilia (2023), Scenic Designer for Rent (2022), and ATD for Into the Woods (2023), Props Manager for Nostalgia Night (2022), lead carpenter for Brigadoon (2022).

 

Professionally, Emily has worked as the Props Apprentice at the Glimmerglass Festival (Summer 2023) and the Props intern at the REV Theatre Co (Summer 2022). She will be returning to the Glimmerglass Festival this summer as their Technical Direction Apprentice and then will be the swing tech for the national Broadway tour of Book of Mormon.
